Wilson Wayne Grant was born in Florida but moved to Texas at the age of 12. After graduating from high school in Houston, he attended Howard Payne University and graduated with degrees in Biology and Bible Studies. His medical, pediatric, and child development training was completed at the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas. For ten years, he practiced pediatrics and child development in El Paso, Texas where he served on the faculty of the Texas Tech School of Medicine.

In 1980, he moved to San Antonio, Texas where he continues to participate in a private practice of pediatrics and has served on the teaching faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center. In addition, he served for 25 years as the Health Services Director for the Rio Grande River Ministry–a program ministering to the border communities of Texas and Mexico.

In addition to his professional involvements, he and his wife, Veronica, conduct frequent seminars on parenting and marriage enrichment. They continue to teach adult Bible Study at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio.

Wayne and Veronica have been married for 47 years and have two adult children and four grandchildren.

Among the books authored by Dr. Grant are From Parent to Child About Sex, Growing Parents, Growing Children, The Search For Me, The Caring Father, The Power of Affirming Touch, Strategies for Success–How to Help the Child with ADHD and Learning Disability, Living the Lord’s Prayer Day by Day, and co-author of Questions Kids Ask About Sex.
