When I was undergoing chemotherapy in 2004 the psalms sustained me. Day by day they presented me with astonishing images that seemed to acknowledge my current condition and allowed me to give voice to where I was. They were companions who understood the wilderness, who were on the journey. They took me to a new place within myself-a place of searching, questioning, healing. I have continued to rely on images in the psalms and invite you to join me on this path to hope and healing. Anne Ogden was Administrative Director of The Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, from 1990-2004 where she oversaw the museum’s business and operations functions, including the security, building, development and marketing, human resources and education departments. From 1976 to 1989, as Craft Coordinator and then Associate Director of the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in Frankfort, KY, she oversaw the organizational and individual artist grants programs. Prior to that, she was Feature Writer and Art, Craft and Book Review Editor of House Beautiful Magazine in New York. Ms. Ogden has in the past been involved on boards of a number of organizations, including the Blackacre Foundation, the Abbey Center for the Study of Ethics and Culture at the Abbey of Gethsemani, the Chapter of Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville, and various arts organizations. She is currently on the boards of the Speed Art Museum and the Filson Historical Society. She has a bachelor’s degree in art history from Vassar College. |
